The reason I'm asking is because for over a week now I haven't been able to feel my right ring or pinky fingers. My dad has had similar trouble with numbness there and having seen him go through numerous surgeries, surgery is the last thing I want. I also tend to get sick when taking perscription meds, as I have really low blood pressure, and I don't want to have to deal with those.

  1. I don't think there is anything to 'repair' damaged nerves, including prescription meds.  First of all, you need to find out what is causing it to prevent permanent damage.  A chiropractor is sometimes the way to go here.  knowing folks who have had a surgery to fix numb hands that hasn't worked prompted me to seek out a chiropractor and I got lots of info from him.  i also have trouble with numb hands and mine stems from pinched nerves in neck and shoulder and arthritis. nerves run from spine throughout your body.  The chiropractor taught me gentle stretches and maneuvers to help with numbness and pain in extremities.  For me, these things have worked.  no meds involved at all other than I do take glucosomine for arthritis and a few other supplements.

  2. the numbness is more than likely due to pinched nerves in your brachial plexus.... you can go get a massage to release the muscles putting pressure on the nerves.... you need a theraputic massage not a swedish.... a chiropractor might be able to help, but if the muscles are tight, in my opinion, is jsut a waste of time.... seriously go get a massage...

  3. there are  Herbs that can help but You still need to get it check out!

    Here's a list of Herbs

Evening primrose oil: 2-8 Grams per day

Flaxseed Oil :2-4 tbsp 1 x per day take with food and alot of water

Wild Yam Root: take 1 or 2 dried roots to 1 cup of water. Pour boiling water over dried root, steep 3 to 5 mins. drink 3x per day

St. John's Wort Oil or Cream: Apply directly to the area 2x per day!

  4. Well, you still need to see your Dr. as random numbness can be a sign of very dangerous things going on in your body.  At least get a diagnosis of what is causing your numbness so you have a direction to go from.

Take a good multi vitamin from a good health food store (like Whole Foods,) that is free of artificial ingredients of any kind.  Make sure you talk to one of the vitamin people for further help and clarification.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is something that is very good for diabetic neuropathy (diabetic people who have nerve damage, especially in the hands and feet.)  Take about 200 - 300mg a day.  It helps the nerves function properly and helps them not become too damaged over time.  It also helps to a certain degree with the repair of nerves.

Fish oil is also a good thing to be taking.  I prefer Nordic Naturals, and I take the liquid oil, but it comes in capsules.  Take about 2 - 3 grams a day.  This will help with inflamation and help with nerve issues.  Its also good for everything else in the body, (heart, skin, eyes, etc.) so its always something good to take anyway.

  5. Vitamins and herbal remedies all sustain life and all kinds of body functions,  Without them, naturally in our food or through supplementation, we all would be dead,

Now more specifically.  You mentioned low blood pressure.  That is better than High BP.  unless it is to low.

A good complete mutable Vitamins;  The best I know of is All in One.  A powder formulated with all the required vitamins , minerals and enzymes.  Look on line.

Exercise regularly. Drink a good processed water, not just filtered.

Loose the sugars in your diet.  Eat more protein and less animal fats.  Stay away from McDonalds.

Get on a good brand of fish Oil about 2-3 grams a day.

I recommend Nordic Naturals,  again on line.  Good luck
