  1. It is either italian or latin? I found an italian and a spanish person with name. I was trying to research it more but your name is pretty hard to find. But I really do think it is Italian.

I was wrong. I found a site with baby names and this is what it says:

The boy's name Macedonio \m(a)-cedo-nio, mace-donio\ is of Spanish and Greek origin, and its meaning is "from Macedonia". Macedonia is a mountainous area north of or part of Greece. The name means "location with many gifts".

Macedonio is a very rare male first name and a common surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census).

  2. They're all close. But the answer is that it's from the Balkans. That area just split into several smaller countries after the fall of Communism. So it's anywhere from Albania to Montenegro. Look at the area that we called Yugoslavia and Albania during most of the 20th century.

  3. Macedonian or Greek

  4. i would say italian or spanish

  5. On Ancestry.com it shows some immigrants with this same surname and they came from Italy. I have posted it below for you to look at.

  6. Probably Italian, or Macedonian.

  7. Are you sure it is a last name and not a first name?  Well it is Latin descent which explains yoou can find this name in both Spainsh and Italian culture.  Both languages are derived from Latin.  But, I have not seen it as a last name only a first name in Italy and Spanish cultures.

  8. The father of Alexander the Great was named Phillip of Macedon. He came from territory in what is now the Balkans. That is the heritage of your name. Are you descended from Alexander?
