Question:

What hobbies should I take up?

I've come to the realization that I don't do much of anything. Help?!

A little about myself: 18/f. I'm broke and probably will be for the next few years. I'll soon be moving to Northern Utah for college. My desired major is Sociology and my career plans involve a sworn law enforcement position. I have a high IQ. I'm not physically fit, but would like to be.

I'm open to most suggestions.

I'm looking for activities that are very engaging (both physically and mentally stimulating) and are in some way productive (educational, charitable, physical, involves learning a new skill).

Please share what you do with your time, even if you don't think I seem like the type to be interested in it. I really want a diverse pool of ideas.

Thanks in advance =)

  1. you should collect something.

It doesn't have to start out as something expensive but, something that passes the time.

  2. Well i sew and craft

  3. Reading

        and

    field hockey

  4. I have a range of things I like to do -- some I pursue steadily, some I run hot and cold on. Writing is nearly a daily activity. I write fiction, I have a blog on a site that promotes community, so that has led to social activities in real life. I also go to a weekly group which is kind of an art class, but more of a women's group. We learn various crafty things, and I've discovered from that which things I enjoy most in the craft realm. I like dyeing silk scarves and collaging objects, things like boxes and trays. I have a lot of friends who love knitting, but it's not one of my hobbies. I also get inspired periodically to cook or bake (mostly cook). Reading is another favorite -- I have a house full of books.

I think it helps to try things in small doses to see if a particular activity lights you up.

Hope some of this is helpful!

  5. Try free writing, set a timer to for 5-10 mins and just write don't take your pen off the paper, even if you have nothing to say , write about it! It helps the soul.Dancing is a good physically!  As for a hobbie, i have just taken up shadow boxes! Photography is relaxing but very expensive. You can always try and learn how to play an instrument! Guitar & Piano is great expecially if your down and out, it helps you to let things out of system as well as sooth you! Good Luck!!! Also others ideas:

    Yoga

    Kick Boxing

    CookinG

    Writing music

  6. hobby shp cars, or nitro/gas powered rc`s.. very fun !!!!!!!1

  7. you should take up skate boarding, basket ball lifting weights , really fun.

  8. try cross stitching, theres 2 types of cross stitching, stamped, means the pattern is already there to sew over, & when done, it can be washed out. Then theres counted cross stitch. This the pattern is "not" printed for you, This is where yo uhave to count the squares to sew, but 1 wrong move & the whole pattern is messed up.

Now, they can tend to be pricey, but if you want to start small, the kits arnt that much, look around at any Hobby Stores, the kits also come with the floss, & some of the counted cross stitch kits comes with the hoop too, it not the hoops are so much cheaper at Walmart.

Hope this helps you out. Good luck with all you do, & choose
