What home theatre do you recommend for this HDtv?

I am looking for something that has digital out for a HDtv

I have a home theatre that I just recently bought but I didnt know what i was buying i thought all home theatres were the same but i was sadly mistaken

so im looking for a home theatre with digital output through my hdtv

something not too pricy either if you can please

i dont know what to look for

A home theater has 2 basic components - the receiver and the speakers.  I would not recommend buying a "home theater in a box" (HTIB) kit as these are usually not very good, cannot have additional devices connected to them, and cannot be upgraded without basically tossing out the entire system and starting from scratch.

You'll want to look for something that can support surround sound with Dolby Surround and 5.1 speaker set (thats 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer).  There are receivers that will do 7.1 (7 speakers and 1 subwoofer) but nothing really supports that yet. If you really want it, you can get a 7.1 receiver now, and just use 5 speakers with it for now (that's what I'm doing.)

The receiver is mainly for audio.  For surround sound, your devices will need to support a digital coax or optical audio cable.  These are found on DVD players, game consoles, and HD-capable satellite or cable boxes.

Newer receivers come with the ability to have HDMI cables plugged into them.  However, this doesn't really do much for you, since the receiver can't decode the signal on the cable - it only acts as a switch.  This means you'll still need to connect a separate audio to the receiver to get sound out your speakers.  The only purpose for this is that it makes it easy for you to move from one device to another.  Otherwise you can just connect the HDMI cable directly to the TV, and the audio cable to your receiver.
