  1. I know that CALVA has school sited in many other states. you can check there web site calva.org or K12.com

  2. We bought a set of CD's ten years ago.  It is called the Robinson Curriculum.  We use the method and material from the 22 cd's.  Basically, it is all about "self-teaching".  The students start learning this way and continue through their high-school years.

They also use the same study method for college --- many study at home and take AP and CLEP exams which enables them to earn college credit prior to ever taking on-campus courses.

The children compute math equations from Saxon Math levels 54 through Calculus and they write and read every day for 12+ years.

When they are done they choose to either go to college or get good jobs.  The 22 cd's cost us only $195 10 years ago and the price is still the same.

  3. K12.com and BYU both have excellent HS programs.

  4. some states now reqiure that the person teaching must be a certified teacher, check into that too.

If you homeschool you don't go through a H.S.

  5. I don't go THROUGH anything. That is, assuming you mean going through a school or a special program. My mom and I (together with equal input) just pick out what subjects I want/need to study for the year, and at the beginning of the year we shop around and buy whatever materials, equipment, books, and/or software I'm going to need. We mix and match and put it all together ourselves. And I have a huge say in it, so it's not like anything is ever being forced on me.

  6. Hi, we homeschooled in Indiana too.  We went from 6th grade until he finished high school.  There is a lot of support here for homeschoolers.  Feel free to email me for info.
