What hoof dressing is best for dry, brittle hooves?

Rainmaker is a good one. I've just started using it on my mare because she also has very dry hooves. It seems to be working quite well.

I use a home made dressing that works great

Ingredients:

1 head of Garlic/Cloved

3 cups of Olive Oil

A few tablespoons of Cheyenne Pepper

Instructions:

Mix well and store in jar.  Paint on hooves with paint brush.

There are a number of really good products on the market. But being an old school kinda guy. I like good old Hoof Flex.

hoof flex! it may smell stinky but works great. my horse had dry cracked, chipped hooves. i used it ( only twice a week) and now they look great. the chips are gone

You should feed a supplement for strong healthy hooves - biotin in good for this. In the meantime use products topically with lanolin in them.  They are good for the hooves.

I like rain maker.  It is easy to apply and is absorbed into the hoof quickly
