last year i won a load of money on silver birch even though the odds were rubbish. this year i am putting my money on simon and contrabrand, kind of extreme i know but to be honest anything can happen. people start to loose when they gamble when they think they have special tactics. i just went for the two who i want to win. i really hope contrabrand wins, when i placed my bet the odds were 398-1, ah well!!

I've got £10 spread across six horses - some £1 each way, a couple £1 to win.

Mum has £10 spread across another five horses, all £1 each way.

Dad's backed another horse at £2.50 each way, so between the three of us, we've covered about a quarter of the field of forty and we'll probably still all lose!!

Most of the money this morning seems to be going on "Comply or Die", although "Cloudy Lane" is still heavily backed.
