it's a confromation question/game, to get considered for best answer you have to answer 2 outta 3 questions. it's based on 4 horses i pick out at random that are for sale, and you cant add in any other horse. they all have some things in common: same breed, close to same age, same price range. it is for FUN, so if you dont like the question/game, then dont answer. Questions: what horse would you get and why? what horse wouldnt you get and why? can you pick out faults and good points of each horse?

side note: just because there is not photo of the horse being ridden does NOT mean that horse is NOT rideable.

  1. Horse 1 - overbent and on the forehand. Advert states "has been started right" - no, she hasn't.

Horse 2 - I don't like his hindquarters, they look too heavy for the rest of him but this could just be a bad photo angle. Sounds like a nice horse for the price though.

Horse 3 - what a terrible picture!! Nice sounding horse though, if a bit overpriced, his conformation doesn't look great but the pic is such a horrid angle its hard to tell!

Horse 4 - Nice enough for a happy hacker, but a bit croup high by the photo and this horse could be hard to elevate because of this.

I wouldn't have any of them, lol.

  2. defiantly the 2 one because it was a ranch horse and loves trails and that is what i would want it for. And he is so cute!

  3. im guessing u like appys

  4. #1

    #2

    #4

    #3

  5. I would buy horse #2. Horse 2 shows that even though he is a younger horse (9), he has the experience to back it up (worked on a ranch). This experience says he is most likely desensitized to foreign objects. His temperment says that he is a 4, so he still has some spirit to him, but has the knowledge to know when to work and when to play.

I wouldnt buy horse #3. This horse doesnt know very many disciplines, is shown to be a temperment of 3, but the owner states in the discription that he is in need of a advanced rider. This tells me he is stubborn and after a vigerous work out may or maynot do what you want him to do.

  6. i agree with the second answerer. i dont understand some of the pictures sellers put on there.

i like the second. shows great confirmation. his coat is just gorgeous.

i then like the 3rd good confirmation with great front legs. nice and straight. nice feet too. coat is pretty. back legs dont have the best confirmation though.

then i like the 4th. good feet, cute head and great weight.

then the first. even though she is tucking his neck, she has a short neck... tooooo short! has a wonderful extended trot, placing her back hoof where her front hoof left the ground. her neck i cant get over though. she is overtucking her head. her face should be perpendicular to the ground.

  7. I would get 3. he is cute, and is already skilled in english riding.

i wouldnt get 1 or two because they are trail, and western horses,

4 is also cute. poor guy! :(

  8. Im sorry but it is way too hard to chhose especially because I go on colour mainly, so I would pic horse 3 but he is the one that needs the most work (I supose thats good if you wanted to train him). But i really cant pic one I dont like.

  9. I personally like them all, but I would have to pick the first horse due to its color and its age and price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, thats just my opinion, but I love it<3    i love them all though<333

  10. The first horse is very down hill - his hind quaters are a good 2 inches higher than his withers. This could be something he grows out of since he is 5 - maybe

The second horse is cute in a bigger bulky way. I like him the best if i had to purchase one, he would the one.

the 3rd and 4th horses are not shown off well at all - the pictures taken were extremely poor.

  11. This is fun, love judging stuff like this although I am not to good at it yet.

Personally I would pick horse 2 Harley although his conformation is not perfect like other people noted, his description is solid and at nine he is just a baby, personally I like to look for horses ten and over when looking for a pleasure mount or even a competition horse, because I find they are stable, level headed, and have already landed a place in this world. With Harley he has had a job as a working ranch horse, and then was a trail horse which is mainly why I would buy him, because trail horses have been taught to overcome obstacles that a horse not used on trails has never faced. And not saying that horses that are primarily used in the arena don't have trust in humans, they do, but a horse that has been actively trail ridden has to trust his rider to get him through the scary parts of it. One thing I absoulutely would not buy Harley b/c of is that he is an appaloosa but lacks the color of one, but if he was a good enough horse I guess I would have to overcome that. But who really can judge a horse just by a picture and words spoken by a stranger.

My second choice horse number three Zip Drive Stuff, his picture is horrible, but I think you have to see past that and look at his attributes. He is not widely schooled, which would need to be fixed but he has had both a westren and english saddle on him which is good a dual horse is always a plus at least I think so. I highly doubt he is a very good barrel racer though his neck seems to be a little thick. It mentions ground manners in his description which is a definant plus a young horse with ground manners can go a long way and they say he is courious which is great. The last thing I like about him is the names on pedigree. What is the magor downside to him is he is new on the trails which at 5 is understandable but I probally would not get him b/c of it.

My thrid choice is Ras Harvest Time. The first thing I like about him is his Height, Age, and Temperment. All are plusses in my book.  I also like that he has been ridden by a 14 yearold which means he accepts children and beginers at 14 myself I know what it is like to have a horse take advantage of me b/c I don't know as much as a 40 yearold who has been riding thier whole life. I don't like his coloring though a little blan for my liking or his head his neck also looks a little skinny.

Horse 1 Zips Candy Lady is my least favorite. I don't like the frame she carries herself in under saddle and I don't care for her looks. The owners description is vage and I hardly doubt she has been started right just judging by the way the owner rides in those pictures. She does have some things going for her though like she yields of leg the temperment is not bad and she does have her papers.

On the overall I think I would only look into buying Harley if I didn't already own a beautiful appaloosa myself.

  12. I like the 3rd 1 better. I dislike the 2nd.

  13. I would choose Ras Harvest Time. I like his coloring. And he's pretty tall. I like tall horses. Also because he's a gelding, and I think geldings have the best temperaments. He sounds like a really fun horse from his description. And, he's not very expensive either! Lol.

  14. Right....

Horse One- Totally on the forehand, nice looker but not been brought on correctly in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't get this horse due to the factors I explained above.

Horse Two- I noticed it said 'good ground manners, but nothing about his riding, so I'm not too sure. Also his body's too heavy for his neck and shoulders- I don't know whether that's down to poor conformation or just bad feeding. But again a good looking horse.

Horse Three- This would be my first choice. The photo's taken at a bad angle, giving him small hindquarters. I like the sound of this horse because he's had a go at everything and is a good all-rounder. I'm into Dressage and he's a pretty good horse if he's correctly mastered flying changes! Also nice colour.

Horse Four- Definitely my second choice. At least this time there is a good photo. He's got good conformation, if slightly croup high. He sounds a bit of a 'safe' horse, perfect for a nervous or novice rider to have some fun with.

    :)

  15. People need to learn how to take good sale photos.

The first horse is my first choice even though he is behind the bit, and seems to have a long back.  I do like the way he is tracking up.

I don't like  #2 s hindquarters.  Looks too heavy to me.

#3 is a horrible pic.  I think the horse may be better than he appears.

#4 is my second choice.  I would like to see a better picture of his neck with the mane pulled.  It looks narrow in this pic.
