What hotels do priceline.com and hotwire.com use?

Do they only use the hotels listed when you do a search or do they have "mystery hotels" (not list on the site) that they only use for people trying to get the lowest rate? Anyone try to get the cheapest rate, what was it name brand or mom & pop?

The use all the major chains and some of the littler groups.  I have not seen much in the mom and pop type area.
