What hotels in Amsterdam would you recommend

We will be visiting Amsterdam at the end of August. What hotels, 3-4 stars, would you recommend? We are looking for clean rooms, great location, and not too loud. Thanks.

Someone on Yahoo! Answers recommended this hotel to me and I loved it!  It is really cute, away from all the noise but still close to the Art Musuem, Hard Rock and all that.  I like the area too because it is a big more real and has some better restaurants then in the more touristy areas.  The owner can give you some good recommendations and help you with any tour bookings.

I spent 3 weeks at the Park Plaza Victoria hotel in Amsterdam.  It is a great location - close to the train station and easy to walk to shopping areas and restaurants.
