What household chemical neutralizes ammonia?

like alkali neutralizes acid. some source says its vinegar. is it true? (say if i wanted to get rid of urine smell using a hosehold chemical)

  1. You could use vinegar since it is an acid and ammonia is a base. But I don't think you would get rid of the smell since it's not ammonia that smells like urine. And the vinegar don't smell like roses...


  2. try bleach or hydrogen peroxide they will destroy the organics hat smell

  3. Don't use bleach unless you want to liberate chlorine gas... not so great to breathe.  I'd guess vinegar.
