  1. bread.:)

    chicken.

    pasta

  2. The general agreement on this board is cat should not be fed human food, mainly because a cat has a very different diet from humans. However, occasionally, it won't harm the cat if you give it a little human food in the form of wholesome meat like chicken breast.

Tuna and fish are a favorite but be very careful because Tuna is very appetizing and your cat might develop a taste for it and nothing else. Tuna also does not contain significant amounts of vitamin E, for example, so too much of the fish can lead to vitamin E deficiency, resulting in yellow fat disease, or steatitis. Fish also contains some level or mercury and careful consideration should be used before feeding your cats. Tuna and fish should never be used as a staple of your cat's diet.

Some plain scramble eggs (no seasoning and salt) is fine, pureed pumpkin (fresh pumpkin not canned) is recommended to be given to cats who has loose stools.

Some cats love luncheon meats, ham, sausages and hot dogs but refrain from feeding those due to their high sodium level.

Most cats are lactose intolerant but if your cat does fine with dairy, you can offer some diluted warm milk with water, plain yogurt, and once in a while, a good old slice of cheese. Any amount of dairy in large quantity is bound to upset the cat's delicate digestive system.

Vegetables, although is not harmful, provides little benefits. But cats can eat them but make sure they are cooked and not raw because cooking breaks down complex carbohydrates into simple carbohydrates and aids digestion. If you are feeding too much vegetable matter, or not cooking it enough, it will show up as constipation or diarrhea.

Some cats love melons - watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe. Fruits contain primarily simple carbohydrates and need not be cooked.

Like vegetables, be moderate and beware of intestinal distress.

Just be very careful when feeding your cat human food. As a precaution, it is best to avoid the best you can. Cat really doesn't need any extras if they are already eating a balanced and nutritionally superior food, in the form on wet cat food.

  3. Plain cooked meat, like roasted chicken (no bones though!)

  4. bread, tortilla bread, gravy, chicken, water, that's pretty much it (:

    NO CHOCOLATE

    that's fatal for cats.

Thanks so much for caring for the cat!

  5. You have been given some good suggestions, such as boiled chicken.  But consider this.  Once you start feeding the cat, you will have a friend for life, and the cat will hang around.  Your parents may not be very happy about that.  And, you can also attract other feral cats, since feeding one is like ringing the dinner bell for all other cats around.

Calling animal control can be a heavy burden.  Some places are not no-kill.  However, the life of a feral cat is often short, hard, and miserable.  Sometimes that is the kindest way.  Of course, if there is a rescue group that can be contacted, that is preferable.

  6. no tuna!!! any other meats are fine such as turkey, chicken or beef ...try to stay away from pork ...and see if you can ask around and find the poor cat a home someone to adopt him...thanks you are good for caring

  7. tuna, some chicken.... if you feed it once though its going to keep coming back, just be prepared for that

  8. I would stick to unseasoned chicken. I've given my kitty chicken sandwich meat, she loved it, and it seemed fine for her. Also turkey sandwich meat. Don't give the kitty tuna, it's not very good for it.

I've included a link with a list of foods you shouldn't feed a cat in my source. So if you aren't sure, check the list.

  9. You've already gotten some pretty good answers, so I won't address that.  What I DO want to say is............no garlic or onion ..in ANY FORM..(juice, powder, etc)  Both of those are toxic to cats!

Hope your mom reconsiders letting you get some regular cat for for the cat.....

    Good luck

  10. I think baked or grilled chicken without any sauces or seasonings would be okay.

I remember when I was five my first cat was a stray that came to our house and she devoured a whole Arby's sandwich.. Not that I would feed a cat that now, but she was starving.

And actually I've been told by MANY people and I've read online that canned tuna is really bad for cats because it creates a vitamin deficiency.

  11. And not only will it be coming back, but you might attract other feral cats and even wild animals.  And where there are raccoons, opossums and skunks, there will be coyotes eventually... especially if you live near foothills or open areas.  Suburbs usually are. Think carefully before feeding wild animals, even if it is a cat!
