What hurts MORE than childbirth?

Have you ever experienced anything that hurt more than, or as much as, childbirth?

i was skateboarding and went down the rail of a flight of stairs and my board slipped out from under me and i landed FACE first onto the ground.  I broke my nose (had to get surgery on it) and bite my lip right open.  that hurts way more than childbirth

I've met people who would rather give birth again than have another kidney stone or an untreated migraine headache.  There are also a lot of people who deal with chronic pain.  A lot of injuries are worse to deal with, too.

One thing that can make labor easier to deal with is realizing that it is a normal function of your body.  It's not a disease or injury, your body is doing what it is supposed to be doing.  Contractions come and go, which allows you a chance to rest in between.  This periodic relief helps make it far more manageable than other problems that cause continual pain.  It's not too bad, or people wouldn't keep giving birth. :)

I would say the surgery after having my gallbladder removed hurt just as bad for me.  I didn't take pain killers for the labor and delivery and did ok afterward with just a little soreness but when i got the gallbladder removed I couldn't function at all for 2 days without the pain meds.

OMG! Wisdom teeth pushing their way in. I was so much just wishing I was giving birth again. At least I knew when the pain would end.

no! although i have to say that the childbirth was easier to deal with than the severe morning sickness i had!

I had a tooth that the nerves inside of it got infected and started dying. (I had a big cavity filled in the year before, and the filling began irritating the nerves.) I had no idea that the nerves in a tooth could die- or cause that much pain. In all seriousness, I spent 3 days in nauseating, excruciating pain- it was so bad I couldn't sleep at night. NOTHING relieved the pain- Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Orajel did nothing. For me, labor pains were a "productive" pain- I knew they were leading up to something. The tooth pain was 10 times worse than labor. The dentist did a root canal to take the nerves out. Trust me, root canals get a bad reputation, but they do not deserve it. I honestly did not feel a thing during the procedure.  I was SO thankful for that root canal- and didn't even mind shelling out the close to $1000 dollars to get everything done.

**Edit- XxRaDiAnTxTrAgEdYxX is right, too. MRSA is a whole different kind of pain. I had it on my leg this past year. For me, though, the tooth thing hurt worse than the staph infection.

My mother-in-law had to have her kidney removed.

She said that was FAR worse than childbirth.

It still hurts her after 5+ years.

Well if any one here had to experience forced torture then yes. I for one have not experienced childbirth (for obvious reasons) and the most painful thing for me was getting my knee forced out of it's socket then popped ak into place on the spot.

If you want to exaggerate then I consider jumping off the C.N Tower and landing on a bicycle without the seat(butt first) more painful.

The only thing that could hurt worse would be to get hit by a bus!  HAHA.  The pain of childbirth is very very worth it, though!

childbirth with my 1st cause i had a c-section and the epidural did not work so i felt all of the cutting  .thankfully i had a spinal block with my 2ND and did not feel anything

No wait, I take that back. Watching someone cut you open under your arms due to MRSA, now that was a *****. MRSA is PAINFUL. Hope NO ONE has had to experience it.

I had equal pain from food poisoning once and a mystery illness that could have been pancreatitis.
