  1. Getting your braces on doesnt really hurt except when they put the spacer on and u hav to bite on a metal rod.. doesnt hurt as bad as what your probably thinking... but that day it hurts a little but i could still eat a cheeseburger and its really the next three days tht hurt like heck!!! but then u dont even notice that you have them.

  2. Definatntly getting them tightend/adding a bracket, it hurts for about 2 days and then it's over though and i think that if you put salt water in your mouth it could numb the tooth or teeth that's hurting.

  3. actually for me my braces didn't hurt much at all the first day. They hurt after about four hours and the second day of having braces is probably the worst. the most annoying/painful part is that you can't eat solid food for a while.

  4. The process of getting braces on does not hurt at all. It's the three hours following your appointment that hurt. And if you do get any pain (I did the first time I had them put on but not when I had them tightened ) just take some pain medication and eat soft foods. You have no need to worry. After those few days you won't even notice you have your braces on.

But have you had your spacers yet or do you have them right now? If you're like me and have no room in your mouth, the spacers actually hurt more than the braces! Trust me.

I'm sure you would be able to listen to your iPod while your othro puts your braces on but I wouldn't advise it. If you don't your dentist can tell you exactly what he or she is doing so you won't worry as much.
