What i.d. can i get so i can start work. i cant get a passport or a birth certificate ?

i was born in south africa but am a british citizen i lost my british birth certificate and cant get a replacement. i have my proof of registration of birth and i also have my identity number from south africa.

  1. Try going to the British Consulate in your city and they would be able to get your birth certificate and help you with applying for a passport.


  2. If you are in UK, please pay a visit to local Registry office for Births/Deaths/Marriages and tell them u r full name (parents names) and date of birth & they will print a replacement for you.

    If you are in South Africa you can do that in UK High Commission to have it done for you.

    If you have ur Identity number from South Africa & u are there then u can ask for South African ID (but probably for that u will have to South African National).
