Question:

What i want is a lizard that is docile and playful?

i was thinking of getting a leopard gecko but they dont like to be handle alot they are more for looking at.

  1. I would recommend either a bearded dragon or a leopard gecko. I would lean towards a leopard gecko though.

  2. Reptiles are not playful, they do not bond, and they will never enjoy being handled; they will only merely tolerate it.  Some are better at dealing with it more so than others.  If you're looking for something cuddly and lovable, I would completely rule out any reptiles/amphibians.

  3. docile? argintean tegu's become docile very quickly with taming. playfull? no. period. their is no such thing as a playful reptile. they just arn't built that way.

    tegu's are nice, my big female was sleeping under my blankets with her nose stuffed under my armpit when i woke up yesterday.

    but tegus get big. up to 5 feet long. 8 foot by 4 foot minimum cage size, and eat more than a dog of similar weight. not to mention $50 light bulbs (UVB)

    and if you don't know how to tame them, they can hurt you.....bad.
