  1. Have a huge BBQ and load music :)

  2. Corn-on-the-Cob Cupcakes

    1 can vanilla frosting

    Yellow food cloring

24 vanilla cupcakes baked in white paper liners

About 3 1/2 cups small jelly beans in assorted yellow, cream and white

    4 pieces yellow fruit chews

1 tbs each black and white decorating sugars

    8 sets of corn holders

Tint vanilla frosting pale yellow with food coloring.  Working with 3 cupcakes at a time, spread tops with yellow frosting.

Arrange about 5 rows of jelly beans, close together, on each cupcake.  Place the 3 cupcakes side by side on a corn dish or serving platter.  Repeat with remaining cupcakes, frosting and jelly beans.

Cut fruit chews in eight 1" squares and soften edges slightly by hand to look melted.  Place 1 square on top of each group of 3 cupcakes.  Sprinkle with the sugars.  If desired, insert 1 corn holder in each of the end cupcakes.

  3. the easiest thing is BBQ, and salads like potatoe salads and macarani salads. Have a buffet style and just buy like 4 trays and fill them with rice, baked poatoes, corn, and for the main course BBQ chicken or ribs. Have a big punch and some cases of soda. Just buy a cake and voila. Food for everyone! Also make sure you clearly state that they can only bring certain number of guests, :

Example: "only 3 guests per invitation" that way you wont have an unexpected number of people coming to your party. Have fun and dont stress out.

  4. well, you could do a "Sweet" 16 party and make it all sweets to serve, candy, cakes, pies, ice cream or a build your own banana split bar, have baggies for people to take candies home for party favors. for more substancial food order up a few inexpensive pizzas from someplace, chips and soda also. make candy decorations- take cardboard and cut out large candy shapes, paint them and wrap in cellophane to look like candy in a wrapper and hang up all over the yard. hang up Christmas lights all over for a pretty look, get candy colored streamers and balloons from the dollar store. play all your favorite songs or jam out to your favorite station on the radio.

you could have a Hawwaiin luau party- find inexpensive luau decorations- palm trees, tropical flowers, parrots, seashells, etc. have regular party foods like pizza or sandwiches (sloppy joes are cheap too) or you can grill hot dogs.

Mexican Fiesta- have a build your own taco/nacho bar with all the fixins. mexican decorations, get a pinata filled with goodies.

costume party- everyone dress up like Halloween! or make them come up with a costume starting with the first letter of your name- pick the most origional for a special prize like a movie or CD or something.

80s party- play all 80s music, everyone dress up 80s style

whatever you decide to do just figure out ways to save yourself some money- make decorations yourself, buy as much as you can from the dollar store first, make inexpensive foods, get soda in 2-liter bottles instead of cans
