What if Al Gore was voted as president of the USA?

How everything has been happening with Bush in-charge: economy, Iraq, etc...Do you think that things would be different, if Gore was president instead? Or maybe the outcome would be the same as it is with Bush? I'm really not good at discussing politics, so I just want to know what people think.

No Iraq war, that was Bush's pet project.

The economy would be in worse shape.  Gas prices might not be as high, but unemployment would likely be 2-3 times today's level.

Had we had actual leadership, 911 might not have happened.  There was anti-terrorist machinery in place from Clinton's time, but Bush ignored it.  You might say Bush caused 911 - or allowed it to happen.  

And 911 as a god-send for the republicans.  They could ram through their sleazoid Patriot Act and quick get us involved in two huge costly wars where they can feed the Super Rich each and every day.

So if we'd had real leadership, things would be completely different right now.  The terrorists would be dealt with as a police problem which they are.  There's no military solution.  

Bush and the Neo-Cons have only one real mission - to feed the Super Rich at the public trough - give them tax cuts - get the price of gasoline up so you pay the Super Rich with each tank you buy.  And every lie they've told - every move they've made - has been to this end.

I think we would be in better condition.

1.  9/11 - of course we would have taken action.  Congress would see that the Patriot Act or something similar would be passed, a form of homeland security would be in place.  We would have the same congress passing the laws and acts.

2.  Iraq - no we would not be in Iraq.  There would have been no personal agenda that needed followed, and no lies would have been told about weapons of mass destruction.

3.  Economy - When Clinton left office the budget was balanced and we had a surplus.  Gore would have continued to follow the same policy because it worked.

4.  Gas prices and the oil crunch - I don't think anyone could have prevented that because the Saudi's are in charge.

I honestly think we would have been better off with Gore as president.  Kerry I'm not sure about but Gore I am.

With Gore and his cap and trade, global warming and all his c**p, this Nation would be a whole h**l worse than it is now.

The United States would not have taken any significant action following 9/11 - there would have been protests and rhetoric but no real action.

Terror cells would increase and there would have been more incidents both around the world but especially within the U.S.

Sadam would have moved again against his neighbors, without any interference from the U.S.

Afghanistan would be a province of Russia

I could go on but I'm depressing myself. Bush has not been brilliant but way ahead of what would have happened had Gore been in office when those planes hit.

We would have grown in really positive ways & had been so blessed by being such good people. Bush got into office & for the first 8 months all he did was make cuts on our own poor people. Then he went on vacation & then 911 happened & he rushed into this Iraq was knowing their were no WMD. He set it up so he could always get votes for what he needed by saying that the military needed certain things so congress compassionately went along with everything & now people act like it is there fault. No way would things be like they are if Gore would have been President. Democrats take care of others they don't use & abuse everyone.
