Would he be part of AT&T staff today? lol

Okay, now on to the question:

What if the Blackhawks hadn't traded Esposito to the Bruins back in 1967?

For those who don't know, it was a one-sided trade that sent Esposito, Ken Hodge and Fred Stanfield from Chicago to Boston for Pit Martin, Jack Morris, and Gills Marotte.

Do you think Chicago would of won some Stanley Cups in his possible time there? He was even quoted as saying "If I had not been traded, well, for starters, the Blackhawks would have won a few Stanley Cups."

Do you think Bobby Orr still would of had his famous flying through the air goal? Would Boston have any Stanley Cups therefore elongating Boston's drought to 1941 instead of 1972? Would there be any interesting and passionate speech after the 1972 Summit Series. Would there even be a Tampa Bay Lightning today? Do you think he would of joined Bobby Hull in the WHA? How would he of done playing with his brother, Tony, in Chicago? How would the Tampa Bay franchise be shaped differently? Where would Brian Bradley, Daren Puppa and Roman Hamrlik play and how would they have played?

Discuss what you think.

Thank you.

  1. There would have been more bumper stickers in Chicago that read "Jesus saves and Espo scores on the rebound".

  2. its the same as asking what if wayne wasnt traded 20 years ago

  3. Dedicated fans must accept the stupidity of team management. It happens in every sport. You are right, your example is probably the worse trade made by a team in NHL history.

  4. Sounds like something you'd see in a NHL network commercial, joining the few they have already
