What if I did drink the water in China?

I'm currently living in China and I always drink bottled water. But I just realized I have been putting the tap water in my cream of wheat before I microwave it? What could happen to me? Is there anything I can do to avoid getting sick? And advice would be great.

  1. It all depends on how clean the water is and how your body has adapted to China water.

I've been to china 5 times in the past 3 years. Once through the Himilayan Mountains into Tibet.  We stopped at a small restraunt in the middle of nowhere and all my party of 8 got ill.  Sick, being diareaha and upset stomach.

You can boil the water first (google that to find out how long).

You can also put some tablets in, but it will give a funny taste. That's what we used when I spent two combat tours in Viet Nam.  I'm not sure if you can buy them on the open market or not.  Best to boil water and keep it in a jug for your cream of wheat.
