Question:

What if I don't care about Global Warming?

I don't smoke and I don't drive, so even if AGW were real I wouldn't be contributing to it in any way. Plus, you can't go up to the sky and sweep the pollution out of it, so why should I care about it?

  1. You are contributing more than you think.

If you're not doing any of these things, then you're not doing your part. Even if you don't believe in GW, at least do it to help the environment. Anyone who believes that the Earth is not in danger is an idiot.

  2. You should care about global warming. The effect of global warming is started showing its color.  So, can you imagine what will happen after some years later. If you are thinking that you will be no more in the earth in that time, than its alright, but what about the children of us and what, if we have to be born again in this earth. So, help the world to help yourself.

  3. You are so selfish and ignorant.

  4. Because everyone else is smoking and driving and ruining the environment. And global warming isn't as simple as you think it is. Smoke and driving is just a very tiny fraction of what is contributing to global warming.

Pretty much all of our processes to manufacture things rely on the use of fuels that put out harmful amounts of CO2 into the environment. Gases are getting trapped and reabsorbed by the earth, so polar ice caps are rising and trapped plants are all rotting simultaneously, releasing high amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. The ocean's pH level is changing and damaging ecosystems, especially in the Atlantic Ocean.

It's not really as simple as you think it is. Get educated on the issue and actually learn what it's all about before saying something.

And as for why you should care about it, because it is going to affect our environment. It might not affect us here and now, but I'm sure you really aren't thinking or don't care about what kind of environment your kids or grand kids are going to have. Who cares about them right? It's all about how comfortable you are yourself right?

    Geez.

  5. because this is where you livve  where youll always live on plant earth .....the o zone is dieing the polor bears are dieing glacers are melting .............. even if your not the one causeing the promblems you should still try at least to make an effort and save light and water becasue no one wants to ruin earth ........................................... it would be extremly painful if the rays got in and hit us ...you know how panful or sad it is to have skin cancer ....or how pollotion is causeing polor bears to die because of the change in temperature ..... summer isnt even that hot anymore and winter doesnt snow that much ....if glacers melt it will cuse the ocean to overflow .....thayt means less land !!!! where will we go

  6. BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO RUIN OUR PLANET ONE DAY!! jeezzz. And so you arent doing it (neither am i) stop others from doing it! Make people sign a petition to ride their bikes more often. Or do something about it even though you arent doing it!! jeeezzz.

  7. You must care by the few steps you take. We are here and enjoying breathing. We should care about what the future would be for people and family. You are doing your part cleaning the air , you sound like a good pace setter. Making people aware.

  8. Good God, did they let Kindergarten out early.  I worry for our future if this is any example of how people believe everything their told.  I don't get how you could be selfish because you don't care.  They really want everyone to worry even if worrying will do nothing.  It is completely mindboggling to me.

  9. Myself I don't go out of my way to save the environment nor do I care about global warming but some of the advice for conserving can help save on the bills that much is for sure. The earth's end is inevitable and will happen someday even with intervention now, maybe today or may be a million years from now. Either way, go out and live life without worry because things happen for a reason.

  10. It really doesn't matter if you care or not, it's up to our government and other high social figures to help the enviornment. It will affect us sooner or later and we need to do something, but 5% of cars being hybrid isn't going to do much, the government really needs to step in...

  11. Are you not part of this global Family? You sound selfish to me. Do you think Al gore smokes and what the F--- does your habits (good or bad) have to do with the problem anyway? You must be American eh.

  12. It seem that you dont care about anything much, so why should people care about a selfish person like you.

  13. Global warming will take care of the life of your offspring...

  14. Dude, you should care 'bout the global warming. Cuz you never gonna know when it's gonna happen!!!!!!!!

  15. because you can exploit peoples fears and make money off of it.

  16. Then why did you come to this forum in the first place?  Why are you spending time on the subject?  Me thinks this one is a TROLL.

  17. You shouldn't. It's a natural cycle that isn't harming mankind a bit.

Your philosophy is right - we can't do anything about it - even if it existed - so enjoy life.

    *Down with Big Brother*

  18. you should care cuz its your HOME , and smoking&driving aren't the only ways of harming our planet

  19. I don't care about it either. I don't thinnk it exists.

29 years ago when I was a little kid then the summers were much warmer. Much warmer. We swam all the time but it's too cold to do that now.

  20. Wow, you sound like a very selfish person.  I hope you don't have kids.  They will be disappointed in you and your generation for not caring about the environment.

  21. I moved to the U.S. a couple years ago and the U.S. is the biggest contributer to pollution in the Earth. My family lives on a small island  off of Japan. If anymore of ice melts from ice bergs or from Greenland due to global warming, my island would be underwater along with my family and friends.   I want to do as much as possible to keep the Earth healthy and beautiful.

  22. For me being environmentally aware came long before the term Global Warming, I don't care if it is real or not. Everything we do and consume has an affect on the planet, so not driving is a small part of what you can do to reduce pollution and waste. I strive to live a sustainable life, in other words the actions I take today can continue to be made without depleted the earths resources. I conserve energy, I eat local and organic, I try to repair instead of replace, I minimize waste and toxic chemicals in my life. The great thing about my choices are I save lots of money, and if Global Warming is real I'm already doing what I need to do and I'm healthier for it.

  23. Do you see the problem with this logic?

I'm not starving and I'm not African, so why should I care about starving people in Africa?

The reality is that you should care about important global issues because that's what intelligent, educated people do.  It's not a matter of contribution, but rather of living in a better safer world.

  24. Why? Do you want to stay alive? Do you want your children to stay alive? Do you want THEIR children to stay alive? Etc. etc. etc. Also, same for the animals, and the EARTH. It kind of matters, doesn't it? Life...

  25. Then that's you and a whole bunch of other people.

  26. well baited hook, you caught plenty of fish. I am impressed.

  27. well i dont think that global warming even exists to the extent that some rediculous doomsdayers are saying.

there have been ice ages and such and then theyve melted and several hundred million years ago there was an ice age that took about 300 feet out of the ocean and opened up one heck of a lot of more land, and now that its melting again they freak out!! it's just a bunch of fear mongering.

the real thing we need to be worrying about is overpopulation! this melting of the glaciers and everything wouldn't be given a second glance if we didn't have millions of people living on the coasts of places like california and florida and such.

but we do all contribute a lot to global pollution more than just not smoking or driving, the things you throw away, the waste, burning stuff...idk but we are a very wastefull and polluting generation

  28. I feel the same way most days.

Really though global warming has been an issue for years and originally if i remember correctly they blamed it on animal waste. When it comes to the earth I do care however not enough I do recycle and with that I feel I am doing my part.

You can do what you want, to care or not to care. You're not alone.

  29. But do you recycle, reuse shopping bags at grocery stores, take short showers, and turn off the TV and all the lights when you leave the room?  Don't you want clean, un-polluted air?  Even if you don't care, help the people who do care by helping the environment.

P.S. I hope you never have kids, and if you already do, I feel sorry for them.

  30. BECAUSE the CO2 level is increasing causing the air to get hotter and hotter.

and it causes us to have to use more OIL to get air conditioning, lighting and power for the microwave and that is running out to.

  31. It's not just smoking or driving that continue to global warming. Leaving on lights, using computers, heating water, not recycling; all contributes to global warming indirectly.

You don't have to care about it, though.
