What if I don't return the NY license plates after I move out of NY ? My car's now registered elsewhere.

  1. I would say keep them handy somewhere as a souvenir. If you get a letter from the state of New York asking what you did with them you can say you destroyed them. You may have to send them a Notarized letter. If they don't contact you..then don't worry about them but make sure no one ever uses them again or you may get into lots of trouble.


  2. When u go to register in ur new state, they will ask for the old ones.

    If not, hang them in ur room & remember the good ol' days.
