What if I don't want to switch over to the new My Yahoo?

I'm perfectly happy with the original "My Yahoo" and don't want to make the switch to the new version. Do I HAVE to switch if I don't want to?

  1. I don't like the new page either. The old one was so much better. More colors, more choices. Some of my items are  not in the new page that were in the old page.  I don't like having to switch to something that is of no interest to me.  I would like to change the modules to what I want, rather than have something I don't want.  Is there somewhere we can complain to keep the old Yahoo page?

  2. I don't like it either...when they switch, I'll switch everything to msn or google.  I've tried it several times and it is very unappealing.

  3. i agree with you, i HATE the new my yahoo and they want all these links to sports, finance, etc...perhaps if they let us have quick links to yahoo games, yahoo answers, instead of what they FORCE FEED us...

i'm gonna switch to google for my homepage or somewhere else....new MY yahoo SUCKS...

yahoo needs to focus more on what people like than forcing us to switch to something we don't like...why can't they keep both??  they're just driving people away....

  4. I've moved to MY MSN and am very pleased with it.

  5. I glad to hear that other people despise the new My Yahoo page as much as I do.  I hated how they kept trying to trick you into switching to the new page.  I wish they would realize and keep both like I thought they were originally doing.  I was very happy until that message came up today.  That google page mentioned sounds interesting.  Thanks for sharing that - I may be switching.

  6. Yahoo doesn't give a d**n whether we like the forced march to the new version of My Yahoo or not.  We should have the option not to accept it.   The new page is a backward step.  There will be a h**l of a lot less hits by me to visit the new version. It makes me angry every time I think about it.

  7. I've switched to and from the new MyYahoo several times to try it out and hated it every time.  As of today, the bar at the top of my old page tells me that the old version will be shut down completely in 6 days, so the answer is no, you can't keep the old one.  The new version is just too slow to load, the links move around as it's loading and I invariably end up clicking the wrong link.  Google has a similar, configurable page which is worth a look, I've started experimenting with it, and so far it looks better than the new MyYahoo.  I suspect that's where I'll end up, after 10 years of using MyYahoo.

  8. hoestly i've already gotten rid of the stuff on my old yahoo page because it's already on the new my yahoo page & and much better you can rearrange the modules & extend them to 10 stories instead of 5.. but come JULY 14 the old my yahoo is SHUTTING DOWN don't wait until the last day 2 get rid of all your old my yahoo pages...that's your choice

  9. You will have no choice but to accept the NEW "My Yahoo" as of July 14th; there was a notice at the top of my OLD "My Yahoo" page stating 6 days til automatic switchover.

Take heart, though, they've added a LOT more pleasant features and backgrounds and best of all have removed the ANNOYING and OBTRUSIVE random ad that made the page cumbersome and s-l-o-o-o-o w loading!!!

  10. I want to go back to my old My Yahoo.  How do I do that?

  11. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED

  12. I don't think so.

  13. Yes. You either have to switch or not use it at all.

I hate it as well. I can't customize it the way I had it before (why do I have to go to another page to see the stocks/market indexes I want when on the old one I had them right there?)

Thanks to the other poster for talking about the Google home page. I might try that.
