Question:

What if I just want to abandon society and live on an island somewhere and grow my own food?

I feel like everything I was brought up to believe is a farce. What is the point of being miserable in order to make money to try and attain things that mean nothing. Possesions own you, not the other way around, and you can't take anything with you. I want to generate a wealth of happiness, and not be awful to my fellow humans anymore. Where should I go, and who's coming with me?

  1. Good day....

I do understand how you feel but if you don't mind i would like to tell you that living alone in an island is quite more complicated than to learn to adjust our own behavior and norms to the society where we live in.

Here in the Philippines I’ve learned that society, government even the people in general need each other and no matter how hard life is, GOD is still GOOD all the time.

And if you’re talking about happiness it is very SUBJECTIVE issue and you alone can find it deep within your heart.

Learn to know what you really like, your passion then do it with all your might... GOD bless!

Hope you learn to love no matter how much the people around you wounded your heart in the past.

  2. theres more to wat ur saying but ya i agree with u. i wish there was communal traditionalism, not individualistic capitalism. srry man i cant come with i found my place here for now and there r ways to live without thinking about it to much. the only true place u can probably go is Afghanistan because thats wat the taliban r fighting for but there falling apart and gone off on tangents plus its really dangerous there because of war lords. but maybe u can buy some cheap land in south asian/indian islands, be careful there pirates there, maybe anywere other than america can work

  3. no man is an island entirerly unto himself

  4. i feel exactly like you do (finally im not alone)

you got a partner right here

  5. Islands are expensive as far as I know so thats gonna make you more miserable. An easier solution would be to move to some remote place with less people and more trees, birds, animals.

I have been thinking on same lines, cant do it soon though got some responsibilities to take care of then will go for it. Hope that humans dont multiply and fill up this planet by then.
