What if a guy who is courting me cant say it in personal?

That's more common then what you may think.  When someone can hide behind a computer or in this case a phone.  They will often give their true feelings.  Some guys can't show their emotions.  Either through the way they are raised or their culture.  The text messaging is one way that he can express his feelings.  Give Him sometime to be comfortable with you and you with him.  As far as him not knowing he may honestly not know what he feels in his heart, more than likely he does not know how to express himself.  In our electronic age of computers, text messaging and voice mail we often forget we miss the human contact.  A smiley face is nice but it doesn't replace someone telling you to have a nice day.  Spend more time with your friend and less time messaging him to see how he truly feels.  Good luck to you
