What if golf never existed?

What alternate off season activity would increase as a result of golf never existing?

Quite a number of players hit the green during the off season and even right when the regular season is over and are actually quite good at it (i.e. Joe Sakic, Jeremy Roenick). What do you think your favorite player or players would participate in instead?

  1. I'd say bowling--very low injury risk, but still a facinating game when you get into it.  I'm trying to think of a game played outdoors with those qualities, but I'm coming up short.


  2. if their was no golf the white man would make another sport the black man can cant beat them at .... golf was just a sport for the noble white man ... not racist just stating a point look it up glad i could help. and oh yea i think bowling would be an increased sport if golf would no longer exhist

  4. Well that would suck, and then lots of people would be out of a job, and others would not be legends (tiger woods for example). And one of the oldest sports ever would not exist... and lot's of people would be sad :)

  6. That is a good question, spend more time with their families, lol... I really do not know.  But, personally I would love it if golf didn't exist it is sooooo boring.

  12. Well if golf never existed, then there would be a heck of a lot more natural areas here in Florida, but also a lot of people would be out of work.

    As for players. They might take up fishing

  21. a lot of my buddies and my brothers buddies like to play tennis. doesn't matter how good... or how bad you are at it! it's a lot of fun and a great work out. still get the sun you would get too playing golf

  24. I think most hockey players would probably just take their family's o their mansion summer home on the lake. When a team gets eliminated the announcers would say "they're hitting the lake early"

  26. If golf never existed, then the waste of good real estate would end. People would just drive their golf carts around the neighborhood.

    Apparently, Rick  DiPietro goes to wrestling shows. He is slowly not becoming my favorite player.

  28. Tiger Woods would've focused on hockey rather than golf. He'd develop a wcked slapshot similar to Dion Phaneuf. Asa the top defenseman in the world he would've been drafted first overall by Ottawa in 97 instead of Chris Philips. He'd also have won 3 Vezina's eging Lidstrom

  29. Golf is popular because it has a low risk of injury and so it isn't on the list of banned activities for most players.

    Tennis perhaps.

  31. If golf never existed, Tiger Woods might actually have taken up a sport.  I can actually see him as a baseball player -- certainly better at it than Michael Jordan was.
