First let me say lets hope everyone is going to be ok. But if it is a dud will the people grow just as complacent like they were pre katrina?

  1. Let's really hope it doesn't live up to the hype, but let me tell you, it's gonna hit hard. And people are doing the right thing by evacuating.

  2. well,it is hard to say, because of the fact we are at our peak of the hurricane season, the water in the gulf is very warm so most of hurricanes gain their strenght from the warm water, that why everybody freaked out when he got into the gulf

  3. then I will have much to be thankful for. I think it will take a long time , generations before the fear inducing affect of Katrina wears off.

  4. Let us hope to find out.

  5. Considering that as of the 4pm CDT advisory his wind speed is around 115 mph, I would say yes.  I really do hate when people throw the word hype around when it comes to weather stories.  If it wasn't for the media, the death tolls for hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. would be much greater.  If you don't know it's coming, it's kinda hard to get out of the way.
