  1. I have never fed my snakes in a separate container it would only stress out the already picky eaters ball pythons are and make them more reluctant to eat.

  2. Dont panic you dont even need another tank.....

    try the bath tub

    or a cardboard box

or one of those plastic tubs for clothes...with some air holes poked out

you can use anything that the rat cant get out of.....and of course dont leave them alone together over night if your snake doesnt eat .. take the rat out after a few hours....not a few minutes.

Some snakes will not eat if they feel threatened, a snakes only way of defense is to bite...if their mouth is full of food they cant defend themselves..if you need anything else let me know

  3. Usually they only tell you this for your own safety so the snake does not associate his home tank with feeding. He might associate a large object in his territory as prey which could mean your arm or hand could fall victim to a bite unintentionally. You do not need to get him a whole other tank, a rubbermaid or plastic tub thats big enough is fine and they dont go for that much usually a good size one will cost about $5-$10. plus you wont have to worry about your snake ingesting his bedding while hunting his prey since you wouldnt be feeding him in his home tank

  4. My friends all go the cheap route and use a cardboard box....

  5. You can feed it in a plastic tub (Sterilite, Rubbermaid) these are very cheap and can be obtained at Walmart, Kmart and the like. You can also use a box. It doesn't have to be a tank p***e, just something to put your python in so it associates the enclosure with food and doesn't swallow any substrate by mistake.

You have about a week before first feed while it gets used to its new home, roam around your house and look for a box or a tub :)

  6. You get a box but if you don`t have one feed it in the bath tub. If your feeding it prekilled mice I feed mine outside cause ball pythons are`nt dat fast.         P.S. Their just saying that cause the snake mite get you confused with the food but that dosn`t realy happen a lot.

  7. omg.. u guys cmon!.. get a cardboard box or shoe box if it can fit in it.. wow sk8 is rite it will start to bite u if u always feed it in the tank.

  8. i feed my snakes in a big cardboard box. its not necessary to buy another tank because they are pricey and you would only use it once a week anyway.. not worth the money.

  9. If you feed him in his tank then one day if hes hungry and you put your hand in there he might bite you.

You can also feed him in a plastic bin.

  10. just get a plastic tub (wal mart or target) big enough for your snake to move around in a bit (get a short tub...not too tall...on that could go under most beds).  drill some holes along the top of the sides for airflow.  that is what i use for feeding tubs.  relatively cheap.
