Question:

What if i take too many vitamins...?

What will happen if i sneak in like 2 or 3 or sometimes 4 vitamins instead of 1. but i forget to take them each day so when i remember i take alot. What will happen? Is it bad? Is it good? What does it do to me?

  1. too much of anything is bad.

    i dont suggest doing this. its different for all different types of vitamins (they have different side effects if taken in excess) but i would not OD on them.  


  2. You could end up with vitamin toxicity, particularly with the fat soluable vitamins (ADE and K), and that can be very dangerous.  Only take 1 multivitamin/ day, and try to set a routine (example taking it with breakfast).  

  3. Your body will not use the excess. You'll either urinate out the rest or it will become toxic in your system, depending on what vitamin it is.

  4. I'm guessing you are talking about once daily multivitamins. Yes, it is certainly harmful to take too much vitamins, too much selenium for example can be toxic, and other vitamins can also pose serious health risks if taken in excess. To put it simply, if you forget to take a daily multivitamin in the morning, then I wouldn't recommend taking it that night, let alone doubling up or tripling up on it a few days later, it just isn’t logical.
