2.invite someone to resign.If you played user "asdfg" and he left, and user "zxcvb" sits and resigns, the player that loses points is asdfg.

If your talking about yahoo games...

In a rated game if someone doesn't play (I think) after 5 min. (wait each game has a different time limit) a screen will pock up asking you if you want to finish this game later or if you want to boot them and you get the points.

not sure what you are talking about but if you mean that you are playing people online and they drop that you are screwed ranking wise then you may want to double check your internet connection or just take the loss.  If it keeps happening where people leave and the game doesn't end most likely your connection may have some issues.

it's only a game afterall.
