New, and continuing, discovers further support the evolution of man as a primate. Ours was, of course, a different species that evolved into our present day form, and among the human primate there are different species which could have come from other branches of the original, but related, far far back, or simply evolved, per the need , in separate localities due to environmental conditions. The word " Monkeys " is not proper, " Primate " is a better descriptive term.

By the way, we can't have evolved from any animal that currently exists, because those animals became us.

As a result, they no longer exist - but we do as evidence that they were once here.

I suggest you start by reading Darwin's Origin of the Species. We didn't just evolve from monkeys, we evolved from primoridial ooze over billions of years.

This isn't something that disproves God, either, but rather gives you an idea of how God really created the world. Only a limited mind would cling to outdated ideas of God, the way people didn't want to admit the world was round.

You would know it because you would have a tail.  I doubt that we would started walking upright with a tail.  Just think of how many times you would shut it in the car door.  That would hurt.
