Question:

What if our expanding universe collides with another universe?

Our universe has been expanding since the Big Bang 15-20 billion years ago. I suppose what would happen if our universe collides with another universe that may be different from ours. A foreign-looking cosmos with all types of galaxies, stars, and planets could have different matter, gravity, gases, and lifeforms and may be born in a different time period, like sometime between 50 and 1 billion years ago. So this means that the other universe should never resemble our own for whatever matter.

Now what would happen if our expanding universe collides with another one? Would we discover new matter that would solve new mysteries of space? Would galaxies attract or repel to one another? How is that going to effect our Earth?

  1. Good question. First, if our universe is expanding, the physics says that it must be expanding in a “greater” environment. The box that is getting bigger, must be getting bigger in a bigger box; universe meaning everything, the stars, gasses, black holes= matter, both seeing type and non seeing type and energy, both light and dark. Think of the universe as a fishbowl in a river of fishbowls, moving through maybe a currant. Would the current take us into another fishbowl? We would first need to assume that our matter and their matter could engage at all. If we are saying that there are infinite possible outcomes of universe then one could also say that there could be infinite possibilities of types of matter and an infinite vase differential; meaning two or more universes could sit in the same space.  We don’t know. I believe that if we study black matter and energy and how they react to each other and the matter and energy that are seen, we may know a little more about what is going on, on the other side. There has been some indication that small particle vase in and out of our universe, we should maybe look there.
