What if scenario ?

If alien's came on earth (they are a different religion) and a groups of humans wiped them out would it be a genocide or vivicide?

Genocide, because it's a systematic killing of a certain group of people, i.e. humans.

I'll have to follow the great Orson Scott Card and call it Xenocide.

Neither.  Genocide would involve extinction on their home planet.  Vivicide would involve more than just the aliens.

A military action but not a war because congress wouldn't fund it, wanting instead to establish trade but saying that it was the desire for peace that motives them.
