Question:

What if someone could perform telekinesis?

What would happen if someone could perform telekinesis? Not only that, but what if it could be proven scientifically and known science was the cause of it? I'm not talking about the lifting of a car, but something smaller like a wooden chair or an object about fifteen pounds.

How would it impact the world?

What would happen to the individual who "discovered" that the telekinesis was possible?

  1. For all we know, people could very well be able to perform telekinesis in the world.  I have heard many cases where people have claimed to posses the psychic powers of telekinesis.  If this phenomenia was proven to exist in the world, then I believe that this may provide a new range of ideas of science.  Like I have said before, anything is possible.  Hopefully if this phenomenia is proven to be true, then it will be used for the better use of the world.

  2. Why hasn't anyone said it yet???? Randi will give them a million $$$$$$$ !!!!!! That's all!!

    Edit.. MAYBE!!!

  3. That would be huge. It would open up a new field of science. It could possibly mean new technologies to help the disabled.

The person who discovered it would have to submit him or herself to scientific study for awhile so that theories could be formed and some kind of useful knowledge could be gathered. That person would never have to worry about money again. If it were me, I wouldnt even bother with the Randi's Million Dollar Challenge (except maybe to raise money for charity), that would be chump change.

  4. This is my answer. It would be the biggest news story of all time. The person who did it would become famous world wide. The million dollar Randi challenge. That would be a drop in the bucket to them, pocket change. If a phoney like Uri Gellar can become rich and famous.Imagine what the real thing would do.

  5. Well, it would certainly be a revelation to science, and tell us there was something seriously wrong with the laws of physics.  Bummer.

That person would win the Nobel Prize for proving it (and proving physics wrong).  They would never lack for research funding.

  6. well

The Secret World Of Alex Mack.

    Larisa.com

  7. The casinos would remove all the roulette and craps games. Maybe opting for electronic versions. And they would put anti-telekinetic force fields around all the chip racks to prevent passers by from mentally stealing all the money.

All the remote control companies would go bankrupt. Perverts would be mentally "copping a feel" on all the hot chicks.

Dog and cats living together, total chaos.

  8. He/She could travel the world putting on their one person wonder show, hoping people will pay to come and see.

  9. Eri has it right. If someone could create a force without the use of energy it would defy the laws of the conservation of energy and a few other theories too. Should a person really discover a power, physics would need to be almost completely revamped.

Yet I think that if someone did have that power they most likely wouldn't be the one to flaunt it. If you could defy laws of science, would you put yourself out there to grab the worlds attention. If you did, you would have some serious dependency issues with yourself. Besides, there have been numerous attempts to assassinate people who try to negate other people's work. I don't think the case would be much different.

If someone did have the power I think you would find they would keep it to themselves. Being different never really has an appeal to the person who's always been different. Though I could be wrong, if the person was of a young age they might not forsee the consequences of revealing such an ability.
