what will be the consequences if you use pirated software on your personal computer for studies and other stuff?

  1. 1. You can face Litigations, leading to Fines and even Imprisonment

    2. You may be denied Technical Support from the Vendor

    3. You may not be able to update your Software properly


  2. I guess the answer would be, did you get caught, and by whom? As long as you are not distrubiting, and by this I mean selling, pirated software, you will not go to jail.  As for actual consequences, you could get sued by the software maker, but that is highly  unlikely.   Most of the time, when using pirated software the only issue is that it can try to update itself and it will stop working.

  3. Pirated software is illegal regardless of where in the world you are.
