  1. It would depend on the circumstances. If they were in a large enclosure with room to avoid each other, they would do so unless there was a reason to fight (say, food or a female in heat) - both being very powerful, well-armed animals, a fight could result in even the victor dying of its wounds, so they would avoid conflict if possible. Indeed, if one was a female and one a male, they would be more likely to mate than fight (lions and tigers can interbreed, producing hybrids called ligers and tigons).

If it came to a fight, it could go either way. There are numerous records of fights between these species, since many people in the past have wanted the answer to this question and tried to settle it by cruelly pitting tigers and lions against each other. In some cases the tiger wins, in some cases the lion. The outcome of such a fight depends on the individuals involved - their age, size, s*x, health, experience, temperament, etc. Tigers are larger and stronger, but size and strength are not the only determining factors - a large but timid tiger would be likely to lose to a small but aggressive lion, even though it was stronger. Lions generally have more fighting experience - they often clash with other prides, whereas tigers tend to avoid conflict whenever possible.

  2. depending on the size of each creature then it could go either way.

But on average sizes the tiger would probably win as they have more power and are more agile, however i think the lion would put up a very good fight and if it is determined and smart enough it could win.

they both will probably fight on their hindquarters and the tiger will unleash more quick slashes while the lion will probably go for more slightly slower heavy blows to the head and forequarters. And if the fight lasts for too long one of the cats will go for the killer blow or a fatal neck bite which the tiger will find difficult to execute because of the lions defensive mane

  3. It will open up a gate to another dimension

  4. The zookeeper will get seriously ticked off for leaving the gates open.
