  1. Most cars recommend age 12, but mainly it is because of the air bag. If you weigh less than 100 pounds and the air bag goes off, you could be seriously injured or even killed. Be patient, your mom only wants what is best for you. :)

  2. Listen to your mom, you rugrat and stop giving her a hard time

  3. In mexico they said it was 6 years old. But here in America it is 12 or 13.

  4. You need to be 12 years of age to sit in the front seat.

  5. 7 IS THE LAW IN THE MIDWEST.

  6. I got a ticket for not wearing me seatbelt in May and instead of paying the ticket they said If I wanted to I could go to a film on what happens when you are not wearing your seatbelt..

FIRST of ALL ALWAYS WEAR A PROPER FITTING SEATBELT the way you should.

Second: The most dangerous place in a car is the driver. The second is the passenger side..

The safest place in the car in the middle of the back seat in a seat belt and harness...

The people putting on this were two cops and an Emergency room pediatric nurse..

She said tht WHILE 12 years old was ABOUT the right size to fit the seat belt, between it being the second scariest place in the car and the size being questionable, she RECOMMENDED that

KIDS BE 15... THE SAME AGE THAT YOU ARE WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR LEARNERS PERMIT...

She said 12 is BARELY a minimum and that she AFTER SEEING all she has, would NEVER let ANYONE under 15 ride in her front seat UNLESS it was absolutely necessary.

AND everyone in her car HAS to have a seatbelt including her 120lb dogs... They have dog harness belts that hold them in like humans almost cause if you were in an accident, that 120 lb dog can come flying at you like a 120 lb bullet, and never in the front seat cause the seatbelt and or airbag could break his neck...

So... ONE Emergency room nurse said 12 IF YOU MUST, but in her car never under 15... In my car? My kid will be 15.

  7. Well in my car it says age 12. It was on the mirror in flip out board in the front seat. But sometimes it has a height instead of age?

  8. My daughter is eight and I allow her to sit in the front seat. I just turn off the airbag when she is up front.

  9. Each state probable has different laws.  I know in NY I believe it's under age 4 or 4'10" (not sure of the height) they have to be in a booster seat, and I believe it is also the law that they have to be in the backseat.  However after age 5 I don't think there is any law.

But law is only part of it.  Your safety is what most matters.  It is recommended that noone under the age of 12 sit in the front seat due to the airbags.  Yes you could shut the airbags off (mine even has the ability to automatically detect a child and turn them off), but then again airbags are part of safety, why would you want to shut them off??    Without the airbag you could go through the windshield and split your head open.  Much safer in the backseat where even though you don't have the airbag you'll only hit the back of the front seat, and not a glass windshield.  Also 12 is based on avg. height/weight for that age... IF your smaller and more petite, you should wait a few more years.  However, even if your big for your age, you should still wait until your at least 12, because a lot has to do with your developmental stages of your bones and whatnot, cuz the airbag is more likely to kill you cuz your not fully grown.  I think even 12 is really too young.  Better safe than sorry, children do not belong in the front seat.  That is a grown up privlage.
