  1. it doesnt matter. its like saying you'll only buy a car made in your state. DUH

    what do u mean 3 year period? In collections theres no such thing.


  2. Your agreement probably says "This contract shall be interpreted under the laws of the state of ......" or something like that.  It doesn't matter where the agency or issuer are.

  3. It doesn't matter.  If you owe someone money, you need to pay it, or you are no better than a thief.

  4. The statute of limitations applies to your state of residence, not the location of the collection agency.

  5. Wherever you incurred the debt is where your statute of limitations is validated. However you must bear in mind that collection agencies can be licensed and have jurisdiction to collect in more than one state.

    If the debt is yours and you're simply trying to avoid it, it's not worth it as you can be and likely will be sued.

    Just pay it and ask for a 'pay for delete' in WRITING.
