Would you spend the rebate so that you could travel as much and by the same means as before?

(Assuming that the government could do something like this)

  1. sounds good to me, i do not associate myself w/any form of transportation that pollutes and eats my money.-blurey

  2. The first thing to remember about governments is that when they take your money, they NEVER give it back.  The politicians give that money to their friends.  The income tax in Canada began as a "temporary measure" to pay for World War 1.

  3. the rebate in my area is currently $3.47 per gallon.

thats how much you get to keep in your pocket for each gallon you dont use.

  4. It would just reduce your immediate buying power.

How about just put a cap on how high gas companies can charge...b/c the gas companies are making record profits while we're seeing record prices...

  5. Lets not give the man more money then we have to!!

  6. If they did that I would complain that they gave me a savings account that has a 0% interest rate.  They might as well let me keep my money, I can make better use of it.

  7. Think of the cost to the tax payer to just process the paper work.  Why give the Gov. your needed money just to give it back ??
