  1. The Army corp of Engineers has stated that the levees are stronger than they have ever been but that Gustav will hit different points along the levees than Katrina did and some areas could fail if the storm really is harder than Katrina

However this time the government of La and NO is being responsible and telling t

    residents to get out early

And in a rare moment of rational thinking they have also told those remaining that they are on their own and there will be no assistance or shelters for the stupid

    What more can government do

  2. Floods may be worse but you won't have the same situation regarding people.

Both the Obama and McCain campaign/rNC are organized to hit their supporters for cash and food donations and where possible go to actually work on the relief efforts.  My applause to both groups.

  3. who knows what will happen? That said, neither candidate is responsible/can do much for any victims of gustav--that is FEMA's job--- and the LA state senators should be available to offer assistance. Oh, but wait--david vittner is a republican senator from louisiana--wasn't he the one that was using all those high class hookers at the taxpayers expense? Why yes, i believe he did. So i guess we can rule out any tax money going for the cleanup of any part of louisiana--there isn't any.
