Well you can't do anything about the offline messages you already lost by closing the window. They are already got deleted. :(

But there is something you can do to save future offline messages.

Sign into Yahoo! Messenger. (any version)

Go to the menu bar, click on "Messenger", then "preferences".

From the options there, select "archive". And click on "yes, save all my messages". With that, ALL your messages, either they are offline, or just received, will be stored in your Message Archive.
