  1. 6535 mph

  2. We are to assume that would be the maximum speed in the universe.

We would be unable to interact  with other people and would not be able to tell where they were.

A person 1 mile away would not be visible to you for 1 hour.

We would live in a very jerky world.

It would be interesting to develop more about what we would experience.

  3. then we would be able to go faster than light, flash lights would suck, and Einstein would be in an insane asylum.   wooo hooo

  4. Then life would be different and non -existent for you and I.  So - what does it matter.   It is what it is!

  5. time would slow down as well so no one would really notice accept some one looking at it in our universe then he would see everything moving really slow

  6. If all other laws of physics were the same, then time would slow to a halt for an object that travelled at 62 mph, it would take an infinite amount of energy to bring an object to that speed, and that energy would convert to an infinite amount of mass.

  7. Your question is not dumb!  In fact, it's been done.  The speed of light in a vacuum is very fast, but it can go much slower through a medium.  Scientists have made light go as slow as 17 meters per second!  Just like human vision is different from fish vision or bug eye vision, very slow light would be a very different experience.  It would be possible for us to adapt to it though.  Everything would be slower, but it would all be pretty much the same.

  8. If the speed of light was only 62 miles per hour, then we would be seeing things in slow motion.

Since what we see is dependent on light reflection, somebody could pull a "rabbit punch" and we might not be able to react in time!  I am not so sure that life on our planet would evolve the way it has, since immediate time is necessary!

Just think, a mountain lion sees a fawn, the fawn senses the mountain lion, but by the time the mountain lion reacts the fawn has already moved!  Just think of how water refracts light so that the spear fisherman has to know that you do not aim directly at the fish or he will miss it!  That is exactly what would happen if light only went 62 miles per hour!

I am sure we would adjust in some way, but it would be awfully slow!  Just think about how a baseball player would react to a 98 mile-per-hour pitch!  It would become a guessing game!

  9. photosynthesis would not occur as we know it...plants would be completely different also....great question for a PhD Physicist to answer.....nice.

  10. This is the kind of question that really does not have much of a point.  The Speed of Light is a given, and will never be any other value.  If it were very slow, the universe would be so different that nothing we recognize would exist.  So don't worry about it.
