What if the universe has no beginning and no end? Will we ever accept that as the truth?

Why do things need to have a beginning and an end... is it really that hard to comprehend that something could have been there all along?

My friend and I were once discussing God and how it was possible for him to exist. I said that everything must have a beginning and everything must have an end, and she stated that energy cannot be created or destroyed, so it would be logical if God were actually energy, so he was not created.

There's two types of people, believers of science (usually atheists) and believers of God, both people would refuse to believe that we were never created and we will never be destroyed because it will go against both theories. It would mean that both science and religion were wrong and then we'd have mass panic because a society cannot survive without either of them.

It's quite a good question really, I don't think that it would ever be accepted even if it's true. There will always be people who cannot accept the idea that somethings do not have a begining or an end.

It is the rule of two--yes or no, right or wrong, good or bad.  I think it is because we have two hands and could only count that high while our species was in development.  Just think what we would think if we were starfish.

planets may come and go, star systems, galaxies, black holes, but the universe is probably an eternal "entity", definitely.....
