  1. it might just happen with mcain two bouts of cancer and a heart attack

  2. they will go with the guy that came second in the polls. But McCain will not drop dead in the next month but it may happen in the next 4 years so he should pick a young guy. I like Tim Pawlenty, but Huckabee would be good and etc.

  3. It would definitely throw "a wrench in the  works" but the party would have to quickly choose from among the runners up.  AFAIK the election cannot be postponed because of a dead candidate.

  4. The nomination hasn't taken place in either party, so the 2 candidates are only candidates until formally nominated at the convention.

    Hillary still has hope.

    AKA Manchurian Candidate!

  5. A most frightening thought.. We would be one heartbeat away from having the dumbest person ever elected to any office as pres... Pelosi

  6. Stephen Colbert will take over.

  7. I think it goes to the person with the next highest delegates.  What was that guy's name?  You know who I'm talking about....looks like he walked straight off the car salesroom floor back in the 1950's.  Oh yeah, Mitt Romney.

  8. Why do liberals hate senior citizens all of a sudden?

  9. If either candidate is unable to fulfill his role prior to the conventions, then delegates at the convention will vote for another candidate to represent them.

  10. If Obama dropped dead from old age the party convention would actually remain in Denver, and the delegates would just vote for their nominee then and there.

  11. If a presumptive nominee drops dead before the convention, then it will be up to the delegates at that convention to figure out who their candidate is going to be.

If Obama drops dead tomorrow, the Democrats could end up nominating Al Gore.

If McCain drops dead tomorrow, the Republicans could end up nominating Rudy Gilliani.

One thing to remember, these primaries were never legally binding.  They were put on by the parties, not the government, to decide who that party would put on the ballot in November.

  12. uhh...the vice president takes over...

  13. Huckabee is praying for that.
