  1. Yep, very serious issue...

BTW: EPA says DO NOT use bleach against mold...

Check out the remarkable research on toxic mold removal done by environmental expert Dr Ed Close. Simply diffusing Thieves essential oil regularly will likely result in an environment very hostile to mold.

Cost of the Thieves Household Cleaner, a diffuser and a couple bottles of the Thieves oil that Dr Close recommends to his remediation clients: about $250.

Not saying that this alone will solve the problem. And the apparent moisture issue ultimately has to be resolved. But this seems to open a huge opportunity for investors that can stomach the risk. Buy homes at dramatically reduced, remediation-required prices, see if the Thieves trick will solve the problem before traditional remediation techniques, make a huge and honest profit because you know something that is not yet common knowledge.

  2. STOP! WHOA! DANGER!

Do not buy this house, you don;t need this woe.

  3. Well you certainly sparked my interest so I gave you a star.  I now need to post my own question regarding my mold issue so thank you for the reminder. All I know is that mold is never good in living space.  Sorry I couldnt actually answer your question.

If this was a house you were interested in buying, the mortgage company usually requires an inspection.  Did they do this yet?  Or did you determine the mold problem on your own?

  4. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is toxic mold that grows behind walls. You will die from it!! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. As said, this is a huge red flag. The mold isn't necessarily confined to the basement, the spores can be all over the place.

But SOMEBODY's gotta buy the place, if you get all the proper professional advice, legal protections, you might just get a huge concession on the price and have it worth your while.

Fairly obviously, you wouldn't plan to move in until the work is all done and thoroughly certified.

Just saw a This Old House episode of them doing mold remediation in a Katrina-flooded house.  It's a real hazmat operation, but can be done.
