  2. I believe if Martin Luther King Jr. would not have stepped up and said those things to defend the African-American race they would not have made it as far as they are today. But with that being said they need to develop a little backbone they think if you say anything about a black man or woman you are a racist or a bigot. They are taking advantage about what happened so long ago and need to forget about it. My ancestors went through poverty and poorness but you don't see me going up to every body giong oh yeah you can't say that to me because your ancestors did this and that to my ancestors.

  3. There wasn't. It was a written speech entitled "Let Freedom Ring". About four minutes into it Doctor King went on an extemporaneous path. Look at the film of the event. Watch the eyes and reaction of John Abernathy and the others standing behind Doctor King on the podium when he starts saying "I have a dream today...". At that point he left the written text behind. It is probably the best "off-the cuff" speech of the 20th Century in the U.S.
