What if they went to College?

Rashard Lewis: Rashard in my mind would have been one of the best players in the history of the NBA if he went to College. Rashard has an unbelieveable body, 6"10 frame, fast, agile and strong. Rashard is also extremely versatile, fairly decent shooter, can put the ball on the floor, can post. Imagine if he were to develop these skills in College as well as learn more about the game.

Amare Stoudemire: Arguably one of the best bigs in the league, certainly one of the best offensive big men in the league but lacks that defensive skill asset. Physically he has all the tools to be effective but he lacks the basketball IQ to be even more effective.

Those are some players who I personally believe could have been at least stand out role players if they had played College ball for a while.

  1. Many players want to take a shortcut route to the NBA but in turns out that they were not ready yet for the league.

Great points and analysis on these players. Especially Kwame Brown and Gerald Green could have benifitted from a year or two in college.

Even famous players like Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady and Kevin Garnett could have used at least a year in college. Kobe, T-Mac and KG as you could recall struggled early in there career.

I hope players coming out from high school realize that for every successful LeBron James who becomes a star, there are at least 5 players who becomes unsuccessful.

  2. i think they really could have bloomed in college and worked on their fundamentals and leadership, another person who comes to mind is shaun livingston, in college, his coaches would have made him gain some muscle so he wouldnt have had his horrible knee injury
