  1. Vitamins are not FDA regulated because they are natural and not engineered in a lab. As to safe,  people have lived for thousands of years using natural cures.  Modern medicine has evolved quite a bit,  but that doesn't mean EVERYTHING the FDA says is OK to take is good.  How many medications in the past 20 years have you heard about getting recalled because they were approved without enough testing.  That means the FDA approved it to be release for tests in the public in my opinion.  Also the same guys who approve the new pharmaceuticals also have a vested interest in the companies that manufacture them so you do the math.

Edit: Anna P there is nothing wrong with ephedrine when you take it in the recommended dosage and for specified use.  Body builders taking it like candy so the get more oxygen for a better work out is not a specified use.  So when they had heart attacks that is an overdose.

  2. Herbal remedies are never FDA approved.  The FDA only approves things that have been proven within a set series of experiments and testing to cure/control a certain remedy.  Take Echinacea/Golden Seal.....it helps boost your immune system and gets you over a cold, but the FDA refuses to approve it.

  3. The FDA warning on vitamins just means that the FDA hasn't found a link between whatever the vitamin is and whatever it claims it does.  For instance, if Magical Fish Oil capsules claim to cure your impotence, the FDA has to put a warning on the package stating "Uh, we actually have no idea what these Magical Fish Oil Capsules will do to your p***s".  It isn't that the vitamins are unsafe, it is just a way for them to keep you from suing the FDA if the vitamins don't do the things they say they are going to do.

  4. Some time ago there was a Herb sold in the USA that put AIDS in remission because it was so effective the FDA moved right in and said 'This HERB HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN BY US TAKE IT OFF THE MARKET" because the drug industry does not make money on Herbs & Vitamins  so the and they both work to gather.  The only problem is when we take a Vit and and your on a DRUG than the problem will start, its the DRUG  if you were not taking that DRUG their would not be a problem A web site to go on  www.aapsomline.org/tmb.php>>>www.drhotze...

  5. The FDA only likes to regulate medications that cause fetuses to be born with 3 legs.Or something that can cause 20 medical issues just to help with 1.Ya know.Stuff like that.

  6. The FDA does not have jurisdiction over supplements.  That does NOT mean there is anything wrong with them, other than occasional issues like ephedra.  Quality control is the major issue with supplements, so I only buy brands that I trust and never the cheapest option.

FDA-approved drugs kill many many more people than supplements ever will.  That is not a reason not the use those drugs, either.
