What if you accidentally curse in an interview?

Because that's what I did this morning. I was interviewing for a delivery position, and while telling my interviewer a story about my great customer service and delivery skills I said "even when we were taken off that route that place of business still wanted us to deliver their ****". Does that mean that I automatically don't have the job because I think the interview went pretty well besides that one slip up.

  1. YOU let it slip that you are not very intelligent!

normal people don't casually lace their conversations with profanity!

**** is not a verb or adjective!

  2. People need to learn appropriatness, and this is something that you will learn to not do again

  3. I believe no matter how profane a person, when they are interviewing a person, they hold the interviewee to a pretty high standard.  You may have knocked yourself out of the running.

  4. Normally I would say if you accidentally curse, you might as well just stand up and leave, because you're not getting the job.  But a delivery job, that might be a bit different.  How did your interviewer react?  And what did you do after wards?  Did you apologize?

Just do what you would have done otherwise.  Check on your application now and then and apply at a few other places.  You made a mistake, there's nothing you can do to change it now so don't worry about it.

  5. It's not an automatic no-hire, but it certainly is a bad mistake.  On the other hand, delivery driver is different from bank president.  It all depends on the personality of the interviewer and the company policies of the company you interviewed with.

  6. It was a mistake, and the outcome depends upon the mindset of the interviewer.

Its really not a big deal, but some people have hang-ups and may take it personal and be offended. It was justa little blip, and hopefully thats the way it was taken.

But, if you don't get the job, don't automatically assume that this is the reason.

  7. LOL U CAN CONSIDER THAT JOB "ALREADY FILLED"

AND I DONT MEAN BY YOU

  8. Oh dear, I hate to say it but I think you ****'d up!!!

  9. It depends on the interviewer, but in most cases I would say that you didn't get the job.

  10. Depends on the person interviewing you....if they took offense to it then you won't get the job however they may not have thought anything of it at all.  They may be concerned that you will use curse words to customers if you swore during an interview.

  11. I wouldn't worry about it, it was a slip.  Try not to do too often but I could see if you were constantly using that language in the interview.

Make sure you write a nice thank you letter, that might make them forget what you said if they even caught it.

    Good luck!

  12. HA! Yea, I would say you're boned. Moron. Thats like saying "I am a terrific driver, other than the guy I hit and killed while walking his dog I have had no accidents"

  13. The whole sentence seems to be a negative statement that could have been left out. That alone probably wasn't the best thing to say.  When you send them a note thanking them for the opportunity to be considered for the position, about all you can do is apologize for having spoken in that way.
