What if you don't harvest Marijuana buds?

I know None of you pothead would know because you always harvest the buds and smoke em. But what if you grew one in the wild and let it grow, and forgot about it? What would happen to the buds? would they grow into limbs? fall off? what?

They would grow to be flowers ( not very impressive ones, but flowers anyway), get pollinated and produce seed. Seeds could be fed to birds, eaten ( they do not contain THC, but are very healthy otherwise - rich in fiber, protein and good oils. excellent for muesli) or grown into new smelly, ugly plants.
